CINCINNATI (WKRC) - You can avoid the long waits in area emergency rooms by heading to urgent care in some cases.
With so many illnesses now spreading in our community, the wait for emergency room care can be a long one.
So, the team at OrthoCincy wants to remind people in the Tri-State they offer orthopaedic urgent care at several sites.
This is a big season for everything from sports injuries to slips and falls and broken bones.
The orthopaedic urgent care setting is designed to care for these.
“We're seeing a lot of different sports injuries from minor things from sprains and bruises to more major issues like tears to ligaments and other issues,” said Dr. John Fritch, an OrthoCincy sports medicine specialist. “Once you know it’s not going to go away on its own, it’s definitely an advantage to get in and get seen by someone even if its mild like a sprain, it’s nice to have that peace of mind and if it’s more major you are not doing further damage to your joints and you'll get seen by the appropriate person so you can get the right treatment.”
Hours and locations vary.
Quite often, if a specialty follow-up visit is needed, they can get you to the right elbow, ankle, hand, knee, or foot specialist pretty quickly.
