OrthoCincy Orthopaedics & Sports
Medicine and Wellington Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Announce Tri-State
Partnership
The
two premier orthopaedic and sports medicine practices will join forces to
provide patients more options, with an increased geographical footprint
Cincinnati, Ohio
(January
14, 2021) –
OrthoCincy Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, the largest
independent orthopaedic practice in the Tri-State, is welcoming the physicians
and staff of
Wellington Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine, a Cincinnati sports
medicine staple for more than 50 years. The two organizations announced the
partnership today, creating a Midwest powerhouse in the orthopaedic and sports
medicine landscape.
The partnership will initially operate as
OrthoCincy Wellington Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine at each Ohio location to
maximize awareness for patients of both practices. Locations in Kentucky and
Indiana will continue to operate as OrthoCincy Orthopaedics & Sports
Medicine.
“We are excited to announce our partnership
with Wellington Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine,” said JoAnn Reis, CEO of
OrthoCincy. “It creates the largest orthopaedic practice in the Tri-State, and gives
patients the greatest access to specialty orthopaedic care. More importantly,
we remain an independent, physician-owned practice, which allows us to continue
putting the best interests of our patients and staff first.”
Reis will expand her role as CEO with the
OrthoCincy Wellington Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine partnership, and Dr.
Matthew Hummel will continue as president. Dr. Robert Rhoad, current president
and CEO of Wellington Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine, will join the
OrthoCincy Board of Directors, and will continue his practice as a
board-certified orthopaedic surgeon.
“I’m thrilled to see this partnership come
to fruition,” noted Dr. Rhoad. “This collective resource of physicians and
support staff means better and more complete care options for the people of Greater
Cincinnati. We’ve worked for months to make this transition as smooth as
possible, and I’m confident our patients will see great value in this newly
formed partnership.”
Dr. Hummel added, “This
partnership embodies our commitment to long-term growth throughout Greater
Cincinnati. Our new partners from Wellington share our patient-first vision of
superior orthopaedic care.”
All current Wellington Orthopaedic &
Sports Medicine locations will remain open through January 31. A transition to
new OrthoCincy Wellington Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine locations will
begin February 1. Patients will be contacted with information about their
doctor and future appointments. Access to all patient records will remain with
OrthoCincy Wellington with no disruption of care.
