With a new season comes renewed optimism. However, a shoulder injury cost almost 50 games from Joey Votto last season and it's questionable as to whether or not the former All-Star will be ready to begin the season.

Joey Votto underwent shoulder surgery near the middle of the Reds 2022 campaign. The normally durable Votto missed the final two months of the season and is still not 100% with spring training just several weeks away.

Reds catcher Tyler Stephenson broke his clavicle during a game against the Cardinals. Stephenson took a foul ball off of his right shoulder. The trainer came out and checked on him and he remained in the game. The next play was a chopper in front of the plate that Stephenson fielded and as he pulled his arm back to throw to first when he winced in pain, didn’t throw the ball, and went to a knee.
